Uncomfortable Subject of Varicose Vulva

You may already be cringing after reading this blogs title, but Vulval Varicosities are a real, and very, uncomfortable problem for many expectant Mums. Not surprisingly, this taboo subject is hardly the sort of thing you can chat about over the neighbour’s fence! So what can be done for those mums-to-be who are enduring this less glamorous symptom of pregnancy?

Well, it starts from the bottom up, and by that, I mean the bottom of the Legs… and up. A Varicose Vulva can sometimes develop from Varicose Veins that are already present in the Legs, so the importance of looking after your Legs during pregnancy should be a priority.

Some pregnant ladies can be left bed ridden because of pain or discomfort caused by the Vulval Varicosities when standing up, which is not very convenient for busy ladies or Mums who may already have other siblings to look after. So it is good news to know that most varicosities can be greatly relieved, and some can be avoided altogether with good, health care of the Legs.

Keeping the blood circulation healthy in the Leg veins plays an important part in helping to prevent and relieve Varicose Vulva and Varicose Veins, which can be brought on by pregnancy due to softening vein walls, pressure on pelvic veins and extra blood circulating. For the Leg Veins to perform efficiently during pregnancy, it is worthwhile investing in some good, quality Graduated Compression Stockings, which effectively improve the blood circulation in the Legs.

If you can keep the blood flow healthy in the legs, this in turn, will help keep the blood flowing efficiently in the groin, Vulva and pelvic area, offering relief from pain and discomfort caused by varicosities and helping to avoid the onset of varicose formations.

Graduated compression stockings for pregnant women can be extremely beneficial, in that it relieves and prevents many, common circulatory problems associated with pregnancy, such as leg fatigue, swollen ankles, heavy-feeling legs, restless legs, varicose veins, varicose vulva, lymphoedema venous stasis and venous insufficiency.
